    Ah. I could never do that, I'd be too much like Red, I tried to help my mom buy a microwave soon and just got frustrated because she didn't know anything about what features she needed or wattage or anything.

    I don't have a microwave. They annoy me. I don't know how all of the buttons work. Sad

    I also make food fresh, and use the oven, so..

    Anecdotal evidence suggests that cutting onions in water will help reduce the eye irritation.

    You could also elevate your working area by using thicker cutting board, etc. It might not help too much, but it's worth a shot.

    The simplest solution is to buy vidalia or any other sweet onion. No fumes to deal with.
